Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-14. Last updated 14 October 2026.
Good to know first. The app connects to your WhatsApp with an unofficial library that WhatsApp has not approved. Problems are uncommon, but they are possible. The notice about the unofficial WhatsApp connection explains in plain words what that means for you and how to keep the risk low. Please have a look before you join.
1. Who we are and what this is
The WhatsApp Inbox app ("the app", "the service") is run by Dia Bonito Solarte (Tim Street), based in Bocas del Toro, Panama ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
The app links to your own WhatsApp account. It shows your messages translated into the language you choose, turns your voice notes into text, and suggests replies that you can edit and send. It uses Anthropic's Claude to do this.
By ticking the box when you join, or when we ask you again after these terms change, you agree to these terms, to our privacy policy and to the notice about the unofficial WhatsApp connection.
2. The unofficial WhatsApp connection
The app links to your WhatsApp through an unofficial library. WhatsApp did not make it and has not approved it, and WhatsApp's terms do not allow third-party apps to connect to an account this way. In practice, accounts being restricted for using a linked app like this is uncommon, but it is possible. WhatsApp can warn you, limit your account or, in the worst case, close your number, at any time and without telling you first. We cannot prevent that and we cannot undo it, and we give no guarantee that your number stays unaffected or that the connection keeps working. You lower the chance by using the app the way you normally use WhatsApp, as section 6 asks, and if the number is critical to your business or income, please think about that before you link it.
The notice linked above explains this in plain words, including what to do if it ever happens, and it is part of these terms. By accepting these terms you accept the risk it describes.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You join with an invitation link. You choose a sign-in name and a passcode. Keep your passcode private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account is for one person. Do not share it, and do not link a WhatsApp number that is not yours.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else has your passcode.
4. Your Claude API key, or ours
There are two plans, and you choose one when you set up. On the first plan, you bring your own Claude API key from Anthropic. The app uses it to translate, transcribe and draft replies, so the text of your messages is sent to Anthropic. Anthropic charges the costs of that use to you, under your own agreement with Anthropic. We do not charge for it and we do not control it.
- Set a monthly spending limit in your Anthropic account.
- The app has a daily limit you can change. It is a convenience. It is not a promise that you will never be charged more.
- We keep your key encrypted and we show you only its last four characters.
On the second plan, "Use our key", we provide the key. The app uses our account with Anthropic to translate, transcribe and draft replies, so the text of your messages is sent to Anthropic through our account, and we pay Anthropic for that use. This plan costs US$25 per month and includes a monthly fair-use allowance of AI use, measured as what that use really costs us. When you have used it, the app switches to basic translation and turns reply suggestions off until the next month, or until we add more for you, which you can ask us to do at any time. We may change the allowance, and if we do we tell you in the app first. Your key is never shown to you on this plan, and you may not try to read, copy or use ours for anything else.
5. Price, free trial and cancelling
- The subscription costs US$10 per month on the first plan, where you use your own key, and US$25 per month on the second plan, where we provide the key.
- You get a free trial of 14 days. You can cancel before it ends and you will not be charged.
- After the trial the subscription renews every month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time in the app. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If we change the price, we tell you in the app before the change reaches you, and you can cancel instead of paying the new price.
- The price may not include taxes that apply where you live.
6. What you may and may not do
You may use the app for your own personal and business conversations. You may not:
- send messages in bulk, run broadcasts or marketing, or send messages automatically;
- send spam, threats, harassment, or anything illegal;
- use the app to read or collect other people's messages without a right to do so;
- build bots or scripts on top of the app, resell it, or give other people access to it;
- try to break into the service, test its security without our written permission, or overload it;
- upload or send anything that infringes someone else's rights.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
7. Messages, translations and suggestions
- The app sends a message only when you tap send. You decide what is sent.
- Translations, transcripts and reply suggestions are made by an AI system. They can be wrong or miss meaning. Check anything that matters before you act on it or send it. Do not rely on them for legal, medical, safety or financial decisions.
- You are responsible for what you send from your WhatsApp.
8. Your contacts
The people who message you did not agree to this app. The app reads and translates their messages to serve you. You are responsible for using it in a way that follows the laws where you and your contacts live, and for telling people where the law requires it.
9. Your data
Our privacy policy explains what we keep and why. In short, you can download your data in the app, and you can delete your account. After you ask to delete, we wait 7 days in case you change your mind. Then we delete your data from our server, unlink your WhatsApp and remove your key.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the app running but we do not promise that it will always be available, on time or free of errors. WhatsApp or Anthropic can change or stop what we depend on. We may change, pause or stop features. If we stop the service for good, we will tell you and give you time to download your data.
11. Ending your account
You can end your account at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, if your payments fail, or if keeping it puts the service or other people at risk. When an account ends, the data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
12. No warranty and limits on our responsibility
- The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not make promises about it beyond those written in these terms.
- We are not responsible for a WhatsApp ban, a lost number, lost chats, or the charges Anthropic makes to you.
- To the most that the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profit or lost business.
- To the most that the law allows, our total responsibility to you for anything connected with the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
- Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
13. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms or the privacy policy in a way that matters, we give the new text a new version and ask you to accept it in the app the next time you sign in. If you do not accept, you can delete your account.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama. Disputes go to the courts of Panama, except where the law of your country gives you the right to use your own courts.
